2011 Mazda CX 5

The new crossover is the production version of the stylish Minagi concept vehicle unveiled earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show and the first to feature Mazda’s new “Kodo - Soul of Motion” design language as seen on the previous Shinari concept.Unique themes of the Kodo design language include a prominent new front view with a bolder family face and dynamic styling.
There’s been no word yet as to which engines will feature in U.S. delivered models but for Europe, the CX-5 will come with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine and a SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter turbodiesel. Both engines will come in standard and high power versions. Expect only the gasoline engines to be offered in the U.S. In addition to new fuel efficient engines, we can also expect more fuel efficient transmissions, a lighter, yet more rigid body constructed from high strength steel, and a lighter suspension setup.
